Hardcore Against Immiseration –

Full-blast straight-up high-energy rambunctious rowdy positive melodic hardcore punkers from the north-west of England bring their stagedive and circle-pit inspiring pro wrestling rammy to BYAF to absolutely tear it up.

Youthful energy meets grizzly young manhood as we welcome these Edinburgh punks of fine pedigree to Dundee for the first time. From the ashes of our beloved young melodic punk rock hopes The Walking Targets come Bike Notes; older, wiser, still super hooky. The future could be beautiful.

First Dundee show from this brand new high-octane riot-starting melodic ska-punk three piece featuring well-heeled members of The Hijacks, Maxwell’s Dead, The Upstarts, Third Floor Incident and many more. Definitely a good idea to get those dancing shoes on.

The brightest stars in the bleak north-eastern ecossemo sky return to Book Yer Ane Fest to play only their third show of the year having recorded their third LP, it’s our distinct pleasure to welcome one of the most majestic bands in hardcore back to their spiritual home.

First Scottish performance from north-western singer/songwriter/producer and long-time friend of the Cowpunk Family. Delighted to be finally be able to welcome him to perform at Book Yer Ane Fest.

Intense immersive emotional punk rock-informed melodic indie/emo from Blackburn featuring long-serving members of the north-west punk community. Back in Dundee to tread the boards with kindred spirits Terrafraid, the type of bond that can only be forged through months in a van.

Edinburgh hardcore stalwarts smashing it out of the park of late return to Dundee to bring us their righteous pummelling melodic post-hardcore punk rock played with punch, pace and passion. On the most solid bands around, expect riffs and fists in the air.

Radical queercore punks from Kirkcaldy bring their riotous cavalcade back to Dundee after tearing up their first UK Tour. One of the raddest and most pro-active bands from the fertile Fife hardcore scene, we’re delighted to welcome these battle-ready troops to BYAF.

Caustic lo-fi acoustic ecossemo miserableness par excellence from the Cowpunk Family’s most stoic purveyour of beautiful guitar intricacies, splatterpainting storytelling and heartbreaking open tunings. A rare outing in 2017.

The Howlin’ Wolf of east coast cowpunk brings his existential howl and romantic poetry to BYAF to throw down some home truths and soul-soothing soulful acoustic blues to heal weary hearts.

Young emo upstarts from Perth who’ve spent the year sweating it out in basements across the country and putting out their debut cassette release through pro-active Glasgow DIY label Gold Mold Records. Stoked to have them on board the good ship.

Edinburgh acoustic punk project turned wholehearted hulking political protest punk rock beast bring their righteous hope and fury to Dundee with their debut full-length record in the bag and fire in their bellies. Hooks for days and harmonies to raise the dead. Essential!

Fresh off the MTAT Family Values Tour, Dundee’s skyscraping super-melodic ecossemo/dream-pop playing punks return to BYAF to mesmerise with their immaculate soaring sing-a-long bangers. This year’s “Contentment” album is their best yet and keeps getting better.

An effervescent positive force in Glasgow punk rock, we are stoked to welcome Veto and their uplifting bouncy angst-filled infectious melodic pop punk back to Dundee. Only light can drive out darkness and these punks have it in spades. They’ll join us at Pre-BYAF too!

Pre-Book Yer Ane Fest!

Pre-BYAF is presented in solidarity with our friends Dammit Glasgow and will feature The Smudjas, Uniforms (first Glasgow show in three years), Veto and Lou Mclean at Bloc on Thursday 30th November. The show is free but is likely to be cosy so please get down early to ensure your entry.

Post-BYAF happens on Monday 4th December at Bannerman’s in Edinburgh and is presented in conjunction with our friends Massive Nights. The full Post-BYAF line-up will be announced early next week but it’ll be 7.30pm and a fiver a skull on doors.
