BUSY WEEK; FUR COATS 7″, GAB DE LA VEGA (ITA), ANDREW JACKSON JIHAD + MORE!

This weekend is a big one for your friendly neigbourhood cowpunks.

Fur Coats front_1000

Firstly, we co-release the new EP from Chicago’s The Fur Coats. The “Short-Brain” 7″ is a co-release effort with Drunken Sailor Records (UK) and Rad Girlfriend Records (USA) and comes on awesome green translucent vinyl with digital download code, lyric sheet and full colour artwork from the mighty WOLF MASK.

The EP features four tracks of bouncy uplifting melodic pop-punk like Naked Raygun / The Buzzcocks / Smoking Popes and is a hooky punk rock zinger of the finest calibre. The record will be available on vinyl and in digital download form from 9am on Friday 12th June 2015.

Season Ticket holders will be able to collect their copies at the shows this weekend, kicking off with Italian SXE acoustic punk Gab De La Vega, Paper Rifles, Lachance acoustic and Tragical History Tour on Friday night at Cerberus Bar. Gab shall also be performing at the 13th Note in Glasgow on Wednesday and The Banshee Labyrinth in Edinburgh on Thursday. THT shall be joining Gab on all Scottish shows so make sure and stop by the micro-distro and grab a record or two!

Then on Saturday night we are absolutely delighted to finally welcome Phoenix, Arizona’s most fearsome poetic punks Andrew Jackson Jihad to Dundee for the very first time after more than five years of trying to get them here. This is a show that we’ve literally been looking forward to for years and we fully expect AJJ to blow the roof of Buskers.

They’ll be joined by San Francisco’s finest indie rock three-piece in the form of Hard Girls on Asian Man Records, who ye may be familiar with as the backing band for Jesse Michaels’ of Operation Ivy’s Classics Of Love. That band played the 13th Note a few years ago and absolutely killed it and we’ve been hearing reports from our comrades at Team Beard Records that both bands are knocking it out of the park on this tour. To say we’re pumped for Saturday night would be a considerable understatement.

To add further fuel to the fire, AJJ and Hard Girls will be joined by a couple of the finest homegrown acts that the country has to offer in the form of our most beloved pop-punks The Murderburgers and Dundee’s own dream-pop playing punks Terrafraid. There is a new Terrafraid jam taken from their forthcoming “Saudade” album on Make Yer Ane Comp VI, so if ye haven’t checked it out yet, we’d heartily recommend ye do so alongside 41 other DIY bangers!
