Radical rabble-rousing shouty melodic punk rockers from Aberdeen. The “Greetings From Ashley Park” split with Depeche Choad is rammed full of fizzy bangers.
Ecossemo’s darkest hearts bring their romantic no-wave screamo back to BYAF. The “One Down For Youth’s Ideals” EP is a typically brilliant caustic assessment of our current shared situation.
A teenage riot from this fuzzy garage punk rock’n’roll trio from Derry playing their first shows on the UK mainland after a summer spent playing all over Ireland. First time in Dundee!
CHRIS SNELGROVE (CAN)
Montreal’s most peripatetic purveyor of positivity returns with his lung-busting brand of outlaw country influenced acoustic punk rock. Having spent the last two years on tour, the wanderer returns!
Stoked to finally welcome the one of the fastest bands in punk to BYAF after years of trying to make it happen. The “Bonsai Mammoth” LP on Lockjaw Records is face-shreddingly rad melodic hardcore.
Dundee legends bring their take-no-prisoners balls-to-the-wall punk rock to BYAF for the very first time having destroyed the UK punk festivals this summer. Old or now school? Blow up the school!
EMPTY LUNGS (NI)
Belfast’s finest sing-a-long indie punks have been “uppin’ da queerz” across the western hemisphere since 2011 and we’re delighted to welcome them and their upbeat joyousness to BYAF.
Dundee’s most riff-tastic rock behemoths have released one of the year’s most beguiling albums in “Enorme!” and have been slaying stages across Scotland for years. BYAF will be no exception.
FLATFOOT 56 (USA)
It is our absolute privilege to host the only Scottish show of the first UK tour in ten years from riotous Chicago Celtic punk rock road warriors Flatfoot 56. New “Odd Boat” LP out now on Paper+Plastick!
The keepers of the flame, philosophical heart and moral conscience of ecossemo return to decimate and maintain their undefeated streak as the World Heavyweight Champions of BYAF. LP III cometh…
Bewitching glitchy laptop-and-guitar-led drone/noise-pop drenched in feedback with strong melodic sensibilities and a primal punk heart from one of the most inspiring and driven people in Scottish DIY.
LOST AVENUE (NI)
High-energy post-hardcore three-piece from the Smalltown America school of rock bring their passionate Derry meets Chicago punk rock to BYAF after a year smashing it out across the UK/Ireland.
LOST LOVE (Canada)
Lovelorn and sing-along gruff melodic punkers from Montreal out on tour with Empty Lungs will be visiting Scotland for the very first time. The “Comfortable Scars” LP on Stomp Records is a banger.
Witty, insightful and intelligent riot grrl-influenced acoustic indie pop storytelling with swagger and bite from Edinburgh singer/songwriter who’s been tearing up the radio and festival stages across 2017.
MUPPET MULE (Reunion)
Dundee’s original sludge rock trio celebrate 25 years on the twentieth anniversary of their last show. Legends of east coast DIY, it is our absolute honour for to host this Chute Records family reunion.
NO MATTER (NI)
Hands down one of the best pop punk bands in Europe, No Matter are absolute masters of their craft that will put a stupid grin to your face. “Ill Advised” is snotty gobby pop punk perfection, essential!
Pure garage punk rock’n’roll fire from the hottest band in the north of England. If the full-blast nae messin heart’n’soul punk rock boogie doesn’t get you moving then best prepare for pure rock action!
Scotland’s most shredtastic melodic hardcore punks emerge from writing their imminent second full-length after spending the first six months of the year tearing it up around the UK and Europe to destroy.
THEE RAG’N’BONE MAN
Primal noise-wrangling from this wizened one-man-gang country punk wrecking crew. The “Kill A Hipster For Rock And Roll” LP on Petrol Bomb Records is utterly vital howling existential savagery.
THE SPOOK SCHOOL
Scotland’s greatest queer indie pop-punks return to Dundee having spent the year smashing it out on stages at festivals and clubs throughout the USA, UK and EU. A guaranteed foot-stompin’ good time!
Majestic instrumental power metal powerhouses reunited by the power of pyrotechnic guitars, riff worship, virtuosity and spandex. Celebrating ten years, Swordmaster summon the dark lord once more.
Gender politics, shout-a-long gang vocals, handclaps and messy eating from Glasgow punkers, formed at the Girls Rock School in Edinburgh, bring their noisy pop punk to Dundee for the first time.
Weapons-grade roasters bring the beating heart of the east coast cowpunk family back to life by way of blood, sweat and tears rowdy punk rock. No rocking the nostalgia box here; the odyssey must continue.
Warshy, front man of much-beloved Devon folk-punkers Crazy Arm brings his solo project out on the road with kindred spirits Flatfoot 56 on their UK tour. This should be an absolute pleasure!
